The principal use for starch products in the textile industry is as a warp size to strengthen warp yarns and improve their resistance to abrasion during weaving. Starch products are also employed in the finishing of fabrics, in printing, and as components in finishes for glazing sewing thread. The use of starch in printing pastes is a significant application where large amounts of water-dispersible dyes are employed.
